Its laughable.

Noone cares whether we are free or not.. what they care about is that we constantly meddle in their affairs.

If we didnt invade their country we wouldnt have beheadings of americans.. its reactionary. Unfortunately it is rather brutal but death is death right? whether by shock an awe or by beheading.

The reaqsons for this "business of terrorism" that america has gotten itself into is strictly political. Its leaders players ( on both sides) use altruistic ideals in order to rally their underlings to fight the war they chose to start for political, agenda, financial and just plain powers sake....

THANK YOU FOR SAYING THIS, I too, have been saying this for years!!!

To answer your question, the reason the "slow folks" beleive this is because it's what they are told over and over again by politicians. It's not just republicans either (though it is overwhelmingly them that beat people over the head with this simplistic nonsense)

It's really simple. What is more likely to get people to back you?

A) "They hate us for our freedom!"

B) "They hate us because we have manipulated politics and propped up dictators in the Middle East for decades, we are against a caliphate or pure islamic states because we feel our interests will not be represented in one and it could threaten our reliable access to oil."

Which is an easier sell and easier for people to understand?

A)? or the truth?

"Why of course the people don't want war. Why should some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece? Naturally the common people don't want war...

But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and posing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."

(- Hermann Goering, high ranking member of the Nazi Party)

I think that's about it.

it's what they need to go to sleep at night...

they are just de-humanizing the terrorists, making them into completely irrational beings that are doing this for no reason what so ever... while they may not be the most rational people, our freedom isn't really the reason they say they attack us...

same they do to the poor... they say they are just mad at the rich because they are "jealous" and they are all just "lazy" and if they only worked a little, they would all be rich too...

it's removing themselves from reality, so they can move on and do what they want to do... finding an excuse not to change your behavior and demonizing those that could actually have legitimate reasons for being upset...

properly, because of the reality that countless terrorist assaults have, certainly, been thwarted considering that 9/11, i could say that, specific, we are nonetheless loose. maximum present experience being the ten or greater Europeans those days caught on the London airport loaded to the teeth with liquid explosives... additionally, i don't experience any much less loose than I did in the previous 9/11. And, to be particular, in case you have stored up considering that 9/11, the area of our freedom that they hate is that we are loose to gown how we choose, to criticize the government if we choose, and to worship how we choose, between different issues... and the reality that we don't require our women and ladies to positioned on burkas (conceal ourselves head to toe) and that we don't all worship Allah, nor do all of us think of pretty of Muhammed... those information make us infidels worth of dying. ok? those are some particular freedoms they do unlike. we are unlike them, hence we ought to die. I even have not something to conceal. My life, to the outdoors worldwide, (and to myself, from time to time) is downright uninteresting. i could welcome slightly excitement which includes wiretapping. I purely have not got a large sufficient ego to think of that any one can wiretap my telephone. Nope. purely uninteresting little me, eking out a life. loose as could be... at 40 5... on a low income...

The term "Free" is a broad term...Its what we stand for:

Religious Freedom...Ooooo they dont like non-muslim

Capitalism..... They have no money or industry..They are still in 300BC

Powerful Democratic Government....They wouldn't be in control

Equal Rights.....We don't hide our women under tents and we let them vote, drive, and speak their mind.

Did this clear things up for you?

Most anymore use the cause of Christianity as a reason for hatred. I agree we have no business in their affairs but when you sell oil to the world and refuse to abide by the rules of OPEC, your gonna get busted. They had no right to set Daddy Bush's oil wells on fire during Desert Storm. Wass amatter wit you?

Nice observation, Glad to see that others share my views, and do you suppose these same "folks" honestly believe that if we stay in Iraq, long enough, these "insurgents" are gonna lay down their weapons, and throw flowers at us, there'll be no more "hatred" for Americans, and all will forever be forgiven
