I say the name of the drink like Coke, Pepsi or whatever. No-one says 'pop' or 'soda' here in Australia. We have something called 'soda water' which is just fizzy water to mix with other drinks, but otherwise we use the product name.

I said pop when I was a kid. I had a friend in high school who always said soda so I guess I changed. Every once in a while, pop still slips out.

Pop is a term used in the Northeastern US for a carbonated beverage. Soda is merely the carbonated water used in pop (or Club Soda). Pop down South is coolade, or non-carbonated. I just call it Soda Pop as to not offend anybody! :-) I hope I helped.
