Judeo-Christian tradition has taught for thousands of years:
1. Single people should be celibate.
2. Married people should be faithful to each other (adultery is wrong).

The Catholic Church recognizes the power of sex when it teaches, "Sexuality affects all aspects of the human person in the unity of his body and soul."

Chastity means the successful integration of sexuality within the person. A chaste person's body and spirit lives in unity and opposes any behavior that would impair that unity.

Masturbation is contrary to the human dignity of the person and anyone about whom the person has lustful thoughts, and the dignity of human sexuality.

With love in Christ.

Holy books tend to have verses regarding the waste of precious "seed", and they do tend to look down upon lustful thoughts and actions as sinful.

1) While admitting that certain texts cited as condemning masturbation may have another interpretation (Gen. 38:8-10; 1 Cor 6:9; Rom. 1:24), Holy Scripture does include in its condemnation an irresponsible use of sex, and that would certainly apply to masturbation. The Vatican Declaration says that even if Scripture does not condemn this sin by name, "the tradition of the Church has rightly understood it to be condemned in the New Testament when the latter speaks of 'impurity', 'unchasteness' and other vices contrary to chastity and continence."21

I'm not Catholic and I can't remember where I heard this, but I'm 99% sure it's a funny little technicality: the actual act of stimulation is not against the religion but sexual fantasy (that almost always goes along with it) is.

Maybe if the priests masturbated then less boys would get molested. Don't worry about the religion the way I see it is it's wrong to be Catholic. Spank away and enjoy.

Your body was designed to get rid of semen, either by sex, masturbation or by wet dreams.

How can religion dictate to nature?
