Bush was voted in by the Supreme Court, but lost the popular vote the first time. The process was legitimate, but the people involved in making the decision and carrying out the process probably weren't. The second time around that cowardly moron, John Kerry decided to 'concede to his betters' as he put it. I personally believe that the whole thing was a farce, and Bush paid him to forfeit the election. I just wanted to point that out to the idiot who answered this question first.

I don't allow it to bother me. Politics isn't something I'm obsessed with. People in our country complain about or glorify the President, as if they have some say in what's going on, and they don't at all. The president is an idiot, but he doesn't do any of this sh*t that we and the rest of the world blame him for. He lacks the intelligence and the cunning to pull off half that crap. He is a puppet for his cabinet of corrupt geniuses who really running the country and making the big decisions and using his place of power to enforce their ideas. It is upsetting to me that this could happen, but it doesn't surprise me. The government gained power b/c the people handed it over to them, and expected to be absolved of all responsibility but still have the authority to run their own country. The people made King Georges throne, and now they need to shut up and let him sit in it. People b*tch about it, but they lack the courage and the competence to do anything about it.

Well no need for name calling.....I DID NOT VOTE FOR HIM and he did not win the 2000 election it was taken and told to us that we had to except it we know Gore did win. The second time was kinda shady too we all dont know what happened in Ohio. I really dont know why anyone voted for that Evil man!!! You must remember 49% of the United States did not want Mr.Bush as the President the last election. The 2000 elections over half did not want him and conveniently ballots were lost and mix ups happened blah, blah, blah you know the story. I was not a fool or anything else you implied.

The first time he stole the election...The second time he used fear of terrorism, to scare people into voting for him. I was not one of those who fell for it, but many people did. But it was not a landslide by any means. He just barely squeaked over the top!!!!

we have a system where less than 21% of the population (62,000,000 votes for Bush) can choose a leader for the other 79% (300,000,000 total American citizens)

Bush was able to put together a big enough coalition (mostly of religious people and economic conservatives) to win the election

as to why they voted for him, I can't answer, I'm not one of them

Because in 2001 the election was a FRAUD, perpetrated by the very interests that have us bogged down in Iraq.
The subsequent re-election, should give all Americans pause of the sad state of affairs this country is in.
