Yes, and that age sounds about right.

Freeze a wet washcloth and give it to him.

Tylenol works for pain, read the package though.

I have 3 kids and all began getting teeth at 3 months. The up side is that they have no callus on their gums from chewing food, so the tooth can come in more easily. Tylenol didn't do much for them, we used a lot of cold chewing toys. At 6 mo. you can use Advil which is a dream to a teething baby! Best of luck to you! Oh, this also means they'll lose their teeth earlier than their peers. Jack has lost 8 teeth and he just turned 6 last month.

I just wanted to let you know there is a possibility it could be a false alarm. My son did all that stuff at your son's age and he is now 9 mths old with still no teeth!! We were POSITIVE he had to be teething, even our doctor said we could give him infant tylenol for it, but he hasn't gotten any teeth as of yet. In everyone of his baby pics he is wearing a bib because he drooled unbelievable amounts, I thought he would dry up like a prune!

So, of course it is a great possibility that he is teething, he could also suprise you and be like my little guy and go for months with no sign of any teeth poking through!

I just wanted to add one more thing. Don't be too quick with the tylenol though, imagine if we kept giving our son tylenol and advil on and off for months and months thinking he was teething. Ask your doctor to take a look and see what he/she thinks before you start administering meds.

My daughter cut her two bottom teeth at 4 1/2 months... so sounds like your little one is getting some teeth.
I believe you can buy infant orjel, cold wet clothes, anything really that they can chew on. You'll probably go thru lots of bibs w/ all the drooling too.

You know, he could be hungry. Crying, chewing, and chewing on hand is also a hunger cue. Give him a bottle and see if that does the trick. If not, feel his gums, you will be able to feel if teeth are coming in. (wash your hands thoroughly first!)

That is quite possible. You can buy some Anbesol and rub it on his gums to help with the pain. Babies also need something to chew on: a teething ring.

I think that sounds too early. I thought my daughter was teething also when she went through a little bout like what you're describing. I took her to the Dr and he said no teething but that she had a red, inflamed sore throat. Good Luck! My daughter didn't get teeth until 7 1/2 mo.

yep. Sounds like it. Especially if he's really drooly or has a low fever on top of it. rub his gums with a clean finger and give him infant tylenol for one 4 hour dose, and then infant motrin or advil for the next. On and off like that.
