St. Patrick's day celebrations usually last for one day in other countries but in Dublin we will celebrate St. Patrick's Festival from March 15th to 19th, five days and nights of events, most of which are free. Among the events there will be music, street theatre, family carnivals, comedy, street performances, dance, a treasure hunt, and night spectacles. See the site below for full details of the festival and see photographs and video of previous St. Patrick's Festivals.

In case you don't know, St. Patricks day celebrations are different in Ireland than the rest of the world. In Ireland it's a highly religious day were as for North Americans it's an excuse to get drunk in the middle of the week. So if your idea of a holiday is prayer & church than it's a great place to be on that day. Have fun.

Fantastic but remember to book first. We went over when Ireland were in the World Cup and we nearly ended up sleeping on a bench. Oh, and remember to take your passport/driving licence with you as they won't let you stay in a reputable hotel without one. Good luck!
