Zip file into .nba?

I backed up some files from my computer in a zip file (a little over 1GB) onto a disc. Then, we dumped the computer and reloaded everything. But on the disc, it is showing as a .nba file, and says it cannot be opened. This file is also about 1GB, so WHAT happened to my zip file? And can I convert it, or are these files lost forever? help, i need these!

It was burned to a DVD.

Well, I can tell you that 1gb wouldn't fit onto a standard cd, and that may be what caused the extension to change due to a error.
