IF SHE GETS CHILD SUPPORT FROM THE FATHER ANY REFUND WOULD ONLY EXIST FROM WHERE HIS FIRST PAYMENTS STARTED.....NOT ALL THE WAY BACK TO BIRTH....IT'S HIGHLY UN LIKELY HE WOULD HAVE ENOUGH TO TOTALLY REPAY BACK TO BIRTH----WHY WOULD YOU ---IT WOULD JUST REIMBURSE MEDICAID.....JUST TELL MEDICAID THAT YOU NO LONGER WILL RECIEVE CURRENT PAYMENTS.....THAT YOU WILL TAKE CARE OF IT.....

Once an order is implimented by the state, the father (if unmarried) will have to submit to a DNA test to establish paternity. Once this is established the birth certificate is changed to add the father. Once paternity is established, there will be a hearing regarding custody, support, back support, birth costs and the costs for the DNA testing.
I'm in WI and have a friend here who is the father who just found out about his 16yr old son and has to pay all back support as well as all medical bills that the state has paid for.

The father does have to repay all the money that was spent on Medicaid (my son's father moved to Michigan, didn't support me and then said "the govt is supposed to take care of u..not me).. He found out that he had to support the child anyway..If the mother is on medicaid and knows who the father is..they will find him and he will pay.. It won't be her choice.. If she lies about knowing the father and they find out, she could be in big time trouble for lieing..

I have seen it happen and I have seen them go for back child support all the way from the time the baby was born, it really depends on the judge and the state.

I don't think do, especially if his name is not on the birth certificate. If he truly didn't know then there's not much she could do. Also, every stated is different so you may want to be a little more specific.
