Call your doc or go to the hospital... it could be a false alarm or it could be the real thing, but better safe than sorry... you don't want to end up like my friend she had her baby in the back seat of her parents car because she waited to long thinking it wasn't time...

so like i said Call your doc or go to the hospital...

good luck

If your waters do break before you go into labour, don't panic! Put on a sanitary towel for protection - this will also make it easier to see the colour of the fluid you are losing. The amount of fluid you lose may vary. It may be a slight trickle or a large "gush". The fluid is almost clear with a yellow tinge, and possibly a little bloodstained to begin with. It can be quite a shock if the waters do come out in a big gush - by the end of pregnancy, there can be about 800ml of fluid.

If there is a lot of fluid, a sanitary pad will not be adequate and an old hand towel - while undignified - is more practical, especially if you need to travel by car to hospital or the birth centre. You may also wish to protect the car seat with a plastic sheet. If it is a small trickle every now and again, it is important to make sure it is not leakage of urine, which can also happen in late pregnancy (in my experience most women do know the difference!)

It is important that, regardless of how many weeks pregnant you are when your waters break, you should be seen fairly quickly for assessment (even if you are not having contractions). Once the waters have broken, there is less protection against getting an infection, which can sometimes track upwards from the vagina into the womb. Some hospitals will admit you to the delivery ward, while others may see you in the antenatal clinic or antenatal assessment unit. If you are planning a home birth, ring your midwife and she will probably come to your house to assess you there.

Once you have been examined, provided you are at least 37 weeks pregnant, you can usually choose to be induced or to wait and see if you go into labour. About nine out of ten women, who are at least 37 weeks pregnant, give birth naturally within 24-48 hours of their waters breaking.

If all is well with you and your baby, you should be free to go home if you wish. However, as a 'wait and see' approach carries a slight risk of infection you will need to:

• Check your temperature twice a day

• Check for changes in the colour and smell of the amniotic fluid (waters)

• Check for other signs of fever (shivering, flushing etc)

If you have any signs of infection, your doctor will recommend an immediate induction. If you have no signs, but your waters have been broken for more than 48 hours, the infection risk needs serious consideration and your doctor will discuss with you whether you want to have your labour induced or continue to wait.

could be your waters could just be baby pushing on bladder, if it wasnt loads and it was your waters then you will still be leaking slowly, my waters went 4am one mornin while i was asleep and i felt the bed wet so i went to the loo and i was just dripping then a bit drip then a bit more i leaked all that day midwife told me it was ok if i wasnt having contractions, all day the next too i was leaking then i stopped i thought this was normal apparently not there was now no water around the baby and i still hadnt gone into labour, the midwife had made a mistake in her records too, so if it is your waters make sure your in hospital within the next 24 hrs dont lose all your water first i had a very difficult time due to the dryness i ended up with an emergency ceasearean apparently i was one in a million mums this happens too , oh by the way not meaning to scare you just letting you know my baby was fine and i was ok afterwards too i recovered quite well

IF your water has broken you need to go to the hospital immediately. The bag of waters and the mucus plug are the only two barriers between your baby and the outside world. When your waters have broken the mucus plug has already gone so there is nothing from stopping bacteria and potential infection. From what you have described is does sound as if your water has broken so you need to call your Dr. and inform him/her that your water broke and that you are on your way to the hospital. Good Luck and Congratulations:)

Its possible that the way the baby was sitting against your bladder was blocking half of it and when you stood up it freed the rest and it came out. Your waters dont usually look exactly like pee. Its slightly different but Im not a midwife so I dont want to give the wrong advice.
You usually get a clear jelly like discharge before you are about to have your baby and normaly before your waters break and this can sometimes have streaks of blood in it. its called a ''show'' and its due to the cervics softening and getting ready to dilate.

You can phone your midwife if you are concerned about anything and they might check you over. or you can wait to see if you start getting contractions, as once your waters do break the contractions usually follow shortly after.

woo hoo it could be! you need to call your midwife at the hospital and tell them. contractions may not begin for a while but at least the hospital can be more prepared. once your waters break you generally continue to leak fluid as it reproduces all the time so put a towel between your legs! the amounts vary from person to person. sounds like you could be on your way so good luck!! and be pleased it didn't happen whilst you were in bed - my friend had to get a new mattress!

Call your GP or hospital. You have front & back waters so it is possibly onr of them that has broken or it could be that it has started to 'leak'. You are best to be sure as if the water sac is not intact it can lead to infection for both you & the baby. Dont panic but do call right away. Good luck to you and your baby.

If it replace into purely a small quantity of blood it in all probability wasn't your bloody practice. Your "bloody practice" is actual the lack of ability of your mucus plug which would be bloody yet in addition an fairly thick mucus which in my journey falls into the lavatory once you circulate. With my daughter I lost my mucus plug at 36 weeks and had a variety of of hard paintings pains for the subsequent 7 weeks earlier they prompted me. unquestionably, maximum women human beings do not lose their membranes the two the wellbeing practitioner strips them because of the fact it may help bring about hard paintings or you lose it throughout the time of transport. i might call your wellbeing practitioner because of the fact some "previous shaped" docs nonetheless carry on with that in case you truly lost ALL membranes which skill the finished plug (which from the sounds of it i'm doubting you probably did) they desire you in energetic hard paintings interior 40 8 Hours simply by an infection. yet maximum imporantly keep in mind no baths at this element in case you have lost any membranes and attempt to apply unscented soaps no powders down there because of the fact in case you have lost your membranes you're extra possibly to get an infection. sturdy success. no count number what that's purely not long:)

If it is your waters you should start to get contractions quite soon. If this doesnt happen, get in touch with your midwife and she will tell you what to do. Dont leave it because if it is your waters then your baby is at an increased risk of infection now because the protective waters have gone. good luck xxx

Go to A+E to be checked out as I think it's a possibility. After all you should know if it was wee or not. It's better to be safe for both your sakes. I suggest A+E as they can get you seen quickly at any time of day and have the equipment to check your nipper out.
Good Luck Mum!!
