When I make a left tun (only left) my car makes a squealing noise. If I either a) Brake or b) straighten the wheel the noise will stop. Any ideas what it might be?

If it were the power steering it would squeal in either direction but just in case here are the best bets...

1) Check your tire pressures
2) Check your tires for abnormal tread wear patterns
3) Check the belt on your power steering system
4) Check the fluid level in your power steering (if it is low check for leaks as well as filling it up)
5) Check to see if the tire is rubbing anything under the wheel well
6) Check your wheel bearings on that side (unlikely but possible)

good luck...

All cars these days have front disk brakes. Many of these have "wear indicators" built into the brake pads--when the pads eventually wear down to a certain point, the "indicator" will rub against the brake rotor (disk) when you make a turn and make a squealing noise. This could be the cause of your noise.

It is either your power stiring belt or your right front wheel barings are going out. If it is your barings does your car make an airplane noise?
