When I put weight on my left knee when I am walking of giong upstairs, I feel a jolt of pain, as though something has moved out of place. It isn't that painful, but I feel it and it makes my leg twitch. It just started about 5 minutes ago and has never happened ever before. Will this eventually just go away?

You might want to get it checked if this persists. Try icing it 15 minutes on and off for about an hour and see if it helps. When you are doing things that put pressure on your knee, try wearing a knee supporter/brace in order to keep it in place. It shouldn't be popping out of place on its own. Did you hit it or fall on it? Try to keep off of it for a little bit until the pain goes away. Also, as you're icing it, elevate it... put your leg on top of two pillows. Good luck. Feel better.

RICE could be a good option for you, especially as you've never had this before. Rest, Ice, Compress and Elevate is what that acronym stands for. If the condition only manifests itself when you are walking upstairs, and has just begun, it sounds as though you may have a minor misalignment in that leg. Knee joints are funny things -- they aren't nice and stable like ball and socket joints, but are a conglomeration of bones coming together in a loose formation, so it's easy for something to get out of alignment. If you are still feeling it tomorrow, a trip to the chiropractor might be indicated.

My exceptional bet is you simply had been sitting that approach for too lengthy - you might have probably pulled whatever - if the affliction maintains for greater than a pair days you must seek advice your health practitioner. I've torn my ligament earlier than and there was once a certain ripping/popping noise - so until you heard whatever like that - you both simply pulled your muscle or simply sat that approach for too lengthy.
