I have never posted here, but use Yahoo as a homepage and see Yahoo Answers on the side of the page often. I could not resist asking those who frequent this site what their thoughts were on the enormous volume of stupid questions and answers. Just glancing through, I see great uses of this as a legitimate fact-finding tool, but I cannot help but worry about our future when I read most things here.

I see questions such as "Is Ejept a contry?" and answers like "I don't know" (then why are you 'answering'?) or some absolutely retarded response. This is understandable to a degree, of course, but rather unsettling if it is the norm instead of the exception.

Is it due to so many very young children using the internet these days?

Does it show that our education systems are failing completely?

I applaud those who show some sense on here, using it well, but the preceding are just some thoughts and wonders I have upon browsing Yahoo Answers.

There are a lot of kids here. But sometimes there are intelligent questions and answers. I often check out the "search for questions"
box above.

You know, we're in a world of mixed people, we can't be of one
intelligence or stupidity, but I wish I'm on top of them all but NO,
I'm amazed of the intelligence of some questions & answers here.
So o o brilliant.

And with that " Ejept a contry" that made my morning,
the funniest joke.

Its called "immaturity", most kids don't act this way. You would be surprised that most the "stupid" lingo talk etc are from college age and older. Oh you have some teens that think they are "big bad to the bone arses", but most I would say are in college or beyond.

A lot talk this way because they know they will not be slapped around, beat on, etc. in person. This is their device to act "big"!!!

IMHO

You're not the only one, I was taken aback at first but realized in this big planet, there are many different people with different levels of education. I don't judge them, just try to understand their questions and ideas. I just don't enjoy reading epithets and slurs.
