I wrote this, let me know what you think. Do you understand it? Do you know what this is about? Did you get anything out of it? Do you like it?
Stone Step Stairs
The leaves are falling from their tree
The sun has gone and it’s hard to see
The wind has finally caught up to me
The angels are now circling down on me
They say it’s better if I closed my eyes
I know they wouldn’t tell me any lies
So I ask them why were they here
They point to the golden gate and disappear
I make my way to the gate only to find it locked
I try to break in but everything is blocked
This can’t be how it’s suppose to be
The angles never gave me the golden key
I tell myself to hold strong as I fight my tears
There is nowhere to go now but down the stone step stairs
I make my way to the bottom only to come face to face eye to eye
With my innermost darkest demon waiting for me inside

I like it... I am guessing the last sentence sums it up... nothign is easy and your demons are always waiting... (I chose this because I figured that the heaven/hell subject would be too obvious...)
By the way, this is the greatest poem I have ever read, on here, that was submitted for opinion...

Not too bad. Seems to be about hopelessness, guilt, fear, and ultimately powerlessness. You're writing from emotion, which connects with the reader and it's got decent structure. Dig a little more and see if you can throw something intellectually, as well as emotionally, profound at the reader.

This sounds like you are talking about heaven and hell. If a person is not saved and does not live for God's glory,or follow his commandments, then they can not enter into heaven.

It's about death. It's good it has depth. I get the message that you died and can't get into heaven until you deal with the bad choices in life you made. Something like that. ITS GOOD!

Very nice poem - I like it very much.You definitely should post it somewhere where a professional critics can see it - maybe they could give you some advice how to improve it even more.

It was good and I liked it.. I believe it to be about dying, the angels come to take you to heaven, then you learn you are going to hell...

It;s about after you die in the cemetary the restless spirit tha cannot leave. Nice poem.

I think its a good poem. and i believe its about after you die what its like being turned away from heaven and descending to hell. Yes i like it

I think its about not going to heaven when you die, obviously, but there's more to it than that. Maybe this person was expecting to go to heaven but instead was betrayed and sent elsewhere. Idk though thats just my opinion!!!!!
