JFK was killed in a motorcade through downtown Dallas by Lee Harvey Oswald, who shot him in the head. It was more of a parade atmosphere which is why people were there with cameras.

Both Valo and Devmeister are correct to an extent. It was Lee Harvey Oswald who shot Kennedy. Oswald was on, I believe, the 6th floor of a nearby office building. The man who made the HOME movie was Abraham Zapruder. He was just there watching and filming the President's motorcade, just as a souvenir or memento. 1 or 2 days after the assasination, a night club owner, named Jack Ruby, shot and killed Oswald as he was being brought into the courthouse building. The Federal government has twice concluded that Oswald acted alone. There are many people who believe at least one other person shot at Kennedy that day. There are also many conspiracy theories behind the assassination. Some believe the FBI or the CIA was involved. Some believe either Cuba or Russia was involved. Some even believe Oswald was killed to keep him from talking. I don't think anyone will ever know the whole story

You must be speaking of the Zappruder film. JFK was assassinated while in the motorcade with his wife, Texas Governor John Connally and his wife. He was shot by Lee Harvey Oswald from the 6th floor of the Texas school book depository. This was all caught on film by Abraham Zappruder.

They were filming JFK riding down the road and some Harvey Lee Oswald shot him from upabove. So basically they were sitting there cameras and eyes fixed on JFK and then the bullet hit. My stepdad's told me all about it he was like 6 ot 7 and got to watch it.

He didn't-The famous home movie of the shooting was by a man named Zapruder-it was a movie film camera,not Video tape.

He was shot, the bullet hit his head, some of his head blew off. Watch for more details though I wouldn't 'cause it's pretty gruesome.

Harry J. Oswald (pretty sure that's the name)
A person was filming it because he was going to make a speech of some sort. Correct me if Im wrong
