I was driving, out of control, crossing many railroad tracks. The car finally stopped in my childhood home town; it was the bad part of town & I knew that I had to go back. I thought of calling my dad but I knew that I had to get back by myself. I turned to walk back and there was a huge scary bridge to cross. It was long & as I got closer to the end it got scarier. I kept asking Jesus to help me get across. I made it. I was then in my house. I walked through the interior, then into the garage. I realized that I had left the car running in there. I became concerned about carbon monoxide poisoning; the house & garage had been unsafe all along. The garage had many doors; a couple were partially open. I opened the others. Then I saw a dark man in the garage who was going to harm me.I ran out and asked the neighbors to get him out of my house, but they each told me they couldn't; this man was their best friend.Desperate, I screamed "Get out of my house in the name of Jesus!" I then woke up.

Thank you so much to all who took the time to answer. This is the most vivid dream I have had since I was a child, and I felt it was important. I'm wondering if anyone has any insights on why the neighbors said the dark figure in the garage was their best friend? When I awoke from the dream, and thought about this, I started crying, it was terrifying to me. That, and the carbon monixide emitting car in the garage, having been there the entire time...it was frightening. THANKS!!!

Part one Driving-- Anxiety. Your life circumstances are beyond your personal control.

Part Two Dad--- Childhood methods of security will no longer work as you are getting older. The Bridge is a symbol of this. it represents adulthood.

Part three House-- Something is polluting your present life. the dark man represents this too. Your neighbours wont help as you have to deal with this on your own.

Vivid dreams are very important and this dream is trying to show you to get rid of a negative influence in your life or things will get worse. You have to take control, not rely on past methods of coping with problems (Dad) and deal with it with your own strength. Your faith is strong and you are way stronger than whatever dark thing this is, you will be fine.

Find out what it is and find your inner strength to defeat it.

(I think the dark figure represents a problem with either someone or something inside your personal circle rather than someone/thing ouside it, ie debt.)It may be your minds way of making a subconcious problem concious. 'Something or something about someone close to you polluting your life.'
That is the key to this dream I think.)

You are afraid of both the possible outcomes of, and the needing to make, an important decision regarding something you now face in your life.

Or, you worry way too much about everything because you feel you have no control over anything.

Or, you are having very vivid dreams due to hallucinogens, hormonal fluctuations by some cause or introduction to such, or it maybe some kind of biological reaction to an outside exacerabator towards the cause of such vivid dreams, or a medication you are, or should be on.

Or, it could mean absolutely nothing.

well dear I have been know to interpret dreams, but usually you must keeptrack of them. I will do what I can for you. I belileve that you have some heavy decisions to make and only you know you must make the choice. You have several ways in which to go but are to some degree iln fear, like whlich is the best way for you. I know you are a christian, for how long, I don't know. But one thing is for sure you trust in the lord. If this is what is happinging then I would suggest you write a pro and con sheet about your personal matter. If no resolution comes, give it to god he alone will direct you. The bridge and your problem is that you are going to cross over it and that will then become part of your padt, you will go forward. From my heart to yours, Sincerely Kasey mr. boangles

I would say that it shows a subconcious feeling that your life has gradually gone out of control from that point in your life onwards and that you feel somehow that you should trace your way back to rectify those wrongs, You are anxious taht this will be scary and will be a long bumpy road but you fear that if you dont retrace your life then you will end up in harms way and not even jesus can save you then.

My advice is to chill out and stop relying on jesus to guide you or others to help you ( dad, neighbours in the dream etc.) Only you can do this. you dont need anyones help as this will only hinder you and confuse you. There is some unfinished business that You and only YOU must finish.
Good luck on this journey and remeber that Rome was no built in a day,,,, and that Life is called Life because it takes that long to get through your journey on earth.

Here are 2 sites that have excellent dream interpretation.

Driving though represents life's journey. In your case, you dream its out of control and then breaks down. Your life is out of your control and stalls out. But you apparently are accepting of this. You break down in your childhood home town--a safe place of innocence and security. But in your dream, you wanted to get back to the adult stage in life, the responsibilities you face as an adult--you didn't regress to the safety of childhood. You aren't afraid of making these decisions.

A bridge is an important decision, a crucial juntion in your life. You are afraid of some big decision you will soon be making. Same with doors--though partially open doors often refer to being openminded in decision making.

To dream that you are in a garage, signifies a period of inactivity and idleness in your life. You may feel that you have no direction or guidance toward achieving your goals

To see an intruder in your dream, represents your feelings of guilt. Consider also what unfamiliar feelings or thoughts may be breaking into your peace of mind. Alternatively, an intruder symbolizes self-indulgent behavior or unwanted sexual attention.

Your neighbors are friends in your life that you dont feel you should trust. Perhaps with your faith, it could symbolize not trusting others over Jesus. Though your own religious beliefs are important here to determine if the leaning on faith is merely an expression of your own religious beliefs.

The feeling of fear throughout all your dream is most important. You should figure out what this fear you are facing is and try to resolve it. Fear of the place the car breaks down, the bridge, the garage and then the intruder--and even the resistance of the neighbors to help. You are highly afraid (subconsciously perhaps) of something in your life--something that involves a decision you must make. Until this issue is resolved you will keep having nightmares along those lines.

Hope this helps!

It is a dream of anxiety.

Car = decision making
huge scary bridge = support you don't trust
Needing Jesus = guilt conscience, need security
Darkman in the garge = fear

Looks like there are something that involved decision making that you feel worried about. There are some support that you used to trust, but for some reason, this support does not gain your trust any more. You also feel fear about certain things in life that also connects to your worries. That also deals with your decison making. The darkman in the garage symbolize some fear in your life. This fear may affect many things in your life especailly decsion making. Perhaps, there are things in life that you already made some decision but you feel guilty about it because you are afraid to face the consequence and Praying to Jesus is way to crying for help and showing your guilt conscience and insecurity in some sense.

I think you do understand the full meaning: You have sin in your life that needs to be removed. I think you do know what your next action is: Get rid of the sin I think your pretty scared though! It seems so HARD!!!! You can do it. Reach for God and Christ, keep your eyes on the prize! It wont be easy, but with Gods help, you will do just fine. I think God spoke through your gran because He knew you wouldnt listen to Him. He Loves you SO much... YOU are so Loved. He wants you to be happy. Sit down and write what your gran would have said to you, if she were here.... and read ecclesiastes, I think you'll find it matches your thoughts! Good Luck!! You Can do it!

Is there someone in your house that you're afraid of for some reason? A reason involving railroad tracks and a bad part of town? Possibly you have reason not to trust your father to help you with your fear?

I think your subcinscious is taking you back to your childhood to overcome sth/someone that frightened you. It's very brave of you that you asked for Jesus to help & He won't let you down. You have to ask Him to help you overcome where you're feeling stuck from the past. it's a very good dream & very positive.

Sounds like you are at a crossroads in a relationship,
Perhaps one from the past that won't die,
Perhaps your current relationship is rocky ???
The car implies moving on or moving towards the future.
