The block candle will be the size of a half gallon milk box, I plan to set the wine glass inside and use five wicks, one inside the wine glass that will have white wax inside and four outside the wine glass which will be red wax. The purpose is that he burn the outside ones first to read the message i love you on the wine glass.

Whatever you finally choose to do, you don't need the wax to be so hot it will shatter glass. Heat the wax until at least half is liquid and take it off the heat and allow to stand. The rest of the wax will melt in time (keep the pan in a warm place - not hot) and will be liquid enough to be pourable.
I think Pat C is right about it being a mess due to wax clinging to the glass and obscuring the etching - which would be a shame and would rather defeat the object.

It sounds like an inventive idea. In actuality, I think you will have a mess. The red wax (even after it's melted) will leave some remainder on your special glass. Your sentiments will be obscured. It also will take an extended amount of time for the wax to melt down to expose your special candle.Are you etching your sentiments on the glass? You have to consider what you use to put it on the glass. Will it stand the heat? Why don"t you get a bottle of champagne and do whatever you were going to do on the glass on it? Think this. The glass is probably dishwasher safe. So water in the dishwasher hits what? Isn't it like 360 or something like that? Whatever boiling is. Then find out what the temp of the wax is. If the wax is the same or less then it should be ok. Sorry I don't know the specifics.
Sounds like a really neat idea.

This is a great idea... as an engineer, I think that you would need to get the glass to the same or nearly same temperature as the molten wax before pouring the hot wax.. Hope this helps.

The colored wax will retain the heat a little better ...but it depends on your wax dripping therapy. The subject must be properly prepared first.
