The only kind of homosexual network TV is ready for seems to be the nelly, stereotypically effeminate kind. Oh, and there shall be no sex whatsoever. And yes, it burns me out.

I truly miss "Queer As Folk." Sure, those characters were stereotypes too in their own way, but at least they had relationships and sex and a chance to develop.

Although, I have to give "Ugly Betty" thumbs up also. They have two gay characters on that show.

Check out the comments on the Fox TV discussion board for "War at Home." Younger gays seem to be happy that TV acknowledges that gays exist, even if they stereotype.

I don't like the way they're portrayed in the crime dramas, always in the negative, or the superficial way they're portrayed everywhere else. But I guess it's one small step on a long journey to reality.

I do believe it is a sterotype but have to consider sterotypes exist everyday and everywhere. It is just one more chance to prove society wrong. Stereotype is a step up to never being accepted. Everyone has to start somewhere. If it helps I do not agree that there should be a stereo type but it does help people who need something to help understand that someone is different then them,

It does upset me sometimes.

I know how addicted to the tube our society is and know that many of them could only list Will and Jack from "Will & Grace" if you asked them to list gay people.....or maybe Richard Simmons.

While I love, and sometimes lust after my nelly brothers, they do not make up the majority of our community.

I was somewhat hopeful when I heard the premise for this new dating show ...I cannot remember the name...where one guy is gay one has a girlfriend and one is single.

But the episode I struggled through it was 3 men who were all stereotypically gay and she had to pick the one who was really gay. Blech.

Gosh, I hope we're being overexposed. The more we're on, the types and varieties they see of us, meaning that they see not all stereotypes are true. I can only hope we continue to be "in fashion" for a long time to come.

Sometimes, for laughs, but I also think that pretty much everyone on TV is being taken advantage of and quite often, made to look foolish, that goes for gays and straigths of all colors

All types of people get stereotyped on tv. Gays are aren't immune nor should they be. Gay stereotypes are hysterical
