the easiest way is to type into a graphing calculator and find the "zeros"

the zero is the "y" and the root means the x-intercept of the line

x^2 +9x +20 is usually done by trial and error, at first glance look at factors of 20 and which of those factors add up to 9 hence the 9x.... 4x5 =20 and 4+5=9 therefore (x+4)(x+5)= x^2+9x+20
x=(-4,-5)
4m^2 -9 = 0
+9 +9
4m^2=9
take square root of both sides
2m =3
m=3/2

x^2+2x=0
factor
x(x+2)=0
x=0 or x=-2

if the solution set is (-2,3) then
(x+2)(x-3)=0
foil gives
x^2 -x -6
that's it that would be your equation
