Good question.
I do believe that some people are born with the capacity and wherewithal to do great things. And then life gives them opportunities to activate those great qualities.
So I believe that people are BOTH born great and then make themselves great when circumstances require that.

I think they make themselves great. They have an innate desire to succeed, have a motivation that seems unstoppable, and are willing to take risks for what they believe in. They carry themselves confidently and have a can do attitude. They can be poor or rich, any religion, and any race. It is a personal belief in themselves and what they want to achieve.
