I don't think that it is a very good idea to keep that address, so I would like to either change the name on my address or create a new account and have my mail forwarded

well lets see, I understand if you think it better to change email when you get married. but if you have email forwarded what would be the difference?
If you got a new email address and then told those friends that you still wanted to hear from your new or updated address. You would get mail form only those you choose to.
Or
Keep your address and block email from those you don't want to hear from.

This generally involves the creation of a new email account if the email address is JaneSmith@aol.com. You can keep the old one and have it forward to the new or use a web service to have the mail forwarded.
