I had high hopes for him. Now I think there's nobody he won't get on his knees for, for votes.

Yeah, I am. Sometimes McCain acts like a stand up guy even an old Democrat like me would think about supporting then off to kiss the butts off the most vile of American political blocs, the far right nuts like Dobson and Falwell. Remember, these are the guys who said 9/11 was God's wrath on the USA. Utter and complete stupidity.
But if you want the presidential nod from the GOP, you got to kiss the behinds of these fools. Maybe McCain knows this and although he may not believe it, he goes through the motions anyway.
Yet another polititian. We'll have Obama giving the Reverend Sharpton a big hug, too. Forget Tawana Brawley.
And here's the link.

I never thought much of McCain even though I'm an Arizona resident.

He's part of an established crew of government leaders that are continually elected by name recognition and nothing else. Senators should be restricted to one six year term and sent out to pasture where they can become lobbyist, search for election dollars for their favorite candidate or fade into the bliss of bragging about how they played the part of bankrupting America. As far as McCain is concerned I think he should be forced to drink wine and canoodle with Ted Kennedy, they are the same type of people.

I'm disappointed in John McCain but not for the reasons you state. At one time I thought him to be a breath of fresh air in the republican party, now I see him as the same old hot air most of the republicans spew around.

From what I've been reading and hearing McCain's base is lessening every day. It always seems to be over him trying to please everyone and not taking a firm stand on any one issue. The one issue he has taken a firm stand on will be the end of his hopes for the Presidency - and that is his endorsement of sending more troops into Iraq. That one he has pretty much been solid on for quite some time. Too bad it's going to be the political death knell for him, and for anyone else who supports it as well.

A politician is a politician and he doesn't stay that way without votes. But hes set a poor price for his services, the religious right dosn't want him unless Hillary wins the nomination, They would rather have Mc Cain than a woman who showed true mercy and respect for her marriage vows under the worst sort of duress. Guess they are pretty sleazy themselves.

Whoring to the religious right? How do you figure? He's behind sending reinforcement troops to Iraq. I hardly see what that has to do with religion. He's still for gun control, still for gay marriage, and abortion... I hate it when illiterate people get on here, and post ignorant questions.

No, but we don't know if this is true, do we? Who are you that your word should carry the day on a statement like this?

Looks like a pot-shot to me.

EDIT: Thanks, notanazi. That link doesn't have McCain pandering to anyone. If you think you can get anyone elected in this country who refuses dialogue with the so-called "religious right," think again.

No, it's just the sort of phony piety expected from republicans today.

***I love it when fundies use Clinton as a defense for their bad behavior it's so hypocritical. It's like criticizing someone's sleaziness and justifying it by saying he did it so that means its ok for us too. Oh the irony.

He stands behind the line: George Wacko Bush, Sadaam Hussein, Adolph Hitler, Moammar Gadafi, bin Laden, and others who are hiding behind them.
