Every time I see that Valtrex commercial I think, "Did they really need a study to tell us that?" DUH.

The commercial is fine, it's the STUDY I find ridiculous. I mean would you have sex with someone in the midst of a herpes outbreak? NO, you wouldn't! Hence, most people get herpes for someone who has no symptoms!

sure they did, teenagers watch a lot of TV and though they think they know everything... they indeed do not. As a mom, I like any STD info they can put out there.
Perhaps you do a thorough examination of the person you're about to get with...
But how many people really do that?
Herpes lesions might be noticeable on a male, but how many guys out there have "hit it" in the dark, or just never really got a good look, very common I'm afraid!
Also, unfortunately there are alot of selfish people out there that will knowingly have sex, and not tell you they have this embarrassing disease!

I got diagnosed with genital herpes (type 2) about 5 yrs ago, whilst I was still in college and had a foolish one-night stand. I understand a lot of people say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a massive mistake that one time and all of a sudden I felt like I was going to have to live with the implications for my entire life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date men again. After all, who wants to go out with a girl who has sores round her private parts? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/iXIS7 everything improved.

Not only was I able to eliminate all remnants of the herpes virus from my body in less than three weeks, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so fortunate to write that just last week, in front of everyone in a busy restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me! This program provided the chance to be happy and experience true love again. Now I want to help others too by sharing this story.

Yes, you're right. It is possible to transmit herpes without any symptoms or an outbreak. They say that on television because they do have people out there who don't even have a clue. Best of luck to you.

ha ha.. I am 26 .. and this question made me giggle at work.. ha ha .. she said herpes.

Okay seriously... they did need to say that because unfortunately uneducated Americans believe they can determine if someone has a sexually transmitted disease based on outer appearances.

I know. Those commercials kill me. Do they really need a commercial for that? Like if you have herpes, are you really going to go to your doctor and say..."hey, I saw this really great commercial, and I was wondering....."

lol, yeah, because maybe someone sued for false information...

Suing a commercial is like telling Anna Nicole, "no you can't marry another old guy"
