Wow!! This is a very thoughtful question. NLP is a powerful communication method and I had not linked it to hypnosis in my mind. Now that I read this, I will have to give this considerable more thought. It explains a great deal when put that way. There have been examples in history where speakers have managed to use the very methods you discuss to take power and they usually have taken other contenders by complete surprise much as Obama did. Thank you for asking this. It is very profound.

as i think in pictures, it's easier to describe something you see then something you feel.
it's like describing a taste - you know, snakes - they tast just like chicken. now i don't know if they really do, but it's something to go on.
and with a feeling, it's even harder to do. so i'll always paint with metaphors.
