everything on our body serves a purpose... but why do guys have nipples?

Mainly, guys have nipples because women have nipples. All embryos (the developing fetus) start out as female. Gender becomes determined around six weeks of development as a result of hormone "baths," triggered by the genetic character of the cells' chromosomes. So, the basic physiological structures are initially there, with the hormones released around the sixth week of development determining whether an embryo will develop female or male characteristics.

Nipples in men have no specific purpose, but can be very responsive to sexual stimulation. Nipples (in both men and women) are filled with many nerve endings and can be quite sensitive. They can be an erotic area (or erogenous zone) for both women and men and respond to sexual touch and stimulation. Breasts are one of the defining structures that identify all mammals in the animal kingdom, and nipples occur in both the female and male of the species. It is interesting that in the higher mammals more closely related to humans — bonobo apes, chimpanzees, and gorillas, for example — nipples are quite prominently developed in the male.

Everyone in the womb starts off female, and then males grow a package out of the female parts downstairs. So the nipples are there because we all used to be women. In males, nipples do not serve a purpose. They are just part of how we are made. Not everything in the body serves a purpose. The appendix does not do anything, pointless.

Actually, not everything serves a purpose. Nipples develop before the Y chromosome kicks in and arrests further female development.

We start life as a female potential, and thus must have all the potential features required of a female. Males and females have each other's features in one fashion or another... the female clitoris becomes the male penis; the male nipples are the female's breasts and nipples; the male testicles (developed inside the abdomen) are the female's ovaries etc... anyway, all associated parts are contribute to the erotic!!

because all babys im the womb start off as on sex before they x or y chromasones kick in(sex hormones). then if they are a boy they cannot make nipples dissapear but they can grow a penis.

because all fetuses started out female. believe it or not, men acctually started devolping as girls... thats why they have nipples. its not until after the nipples have been developed that the Y (male) choromosome is put into effect.

They don't serve a purpose, and the embryo develops them before the sex is determined....

because everyone is born a girl (its true) until sometime in the womb where the chromosones do their work - which is why females even have traces of the male body part (cough ;-)
