He was the first person to lead an expedition across the Pacific Oceans, but he also forced himself on the Philippino people, causing some conflict throughout the Philippine Islands. The Philippine people created a special phrase to describe Ferdinand--Asno Butas. Tagalog for something not very complimentary.

He proved that the Eart is round not flat which many people believed then.
To spread "Christianity", he had to kill people who doesn't want to convert. Force people to convert to Catholicism.
