I just saw an excellent documentary on him on Sundance Channel...what a great song writer, I'm not into country that much, but, "Pancho and Lefty "is one of the greatest songs ever...I allways thought it was Willie's song.

Oh yeah, Townes is amazing! Everything he did was incredible.
If you really like 'Pancho and Lefty' then you may want to buy _High and Low and in Between_. Its a very good album with lots of other great songs in addition to 'Pancho...'
Townes was also a great live performer, and the best way to get a feel for his live set is a CD called _Rear View Mirror._
My own personal favorites though, are his 1969 self-titled debut, and _Flyin' Shoes_ from 1978. Both are absolutely amazingly beautiful albums. Some people call this "country" music, but I'm of the opinion that no label deserves to be applied to Townes' music. He transcends that.
