I need this for a literary analysis on my midterm tomorrow...I'd really appreciate ALL the help I can get on it...thanks so much
so the analysis is on the theme of the story and this is my thesis:

Morals cease when it comes to one's own danger.

What do you think? How can I improve it and/or change it?

does it sound better with the "cease to exist" part?

It's a little clunky.
Try:
Life-threatening danger causes a shift in one's morals.
OR
Morality takes a backseat to survival when one's life is in danger.

If possible, try to give a quick synopsis of your key points in the thesis.

For example:
"The Most Dangerous Game" proves that life-threatening danger causes a profound shift in one's moral compass by exploring the stress of survival, the sudden realization of one's own mortality, and the amazing steps one will take to avoid death.
Then explain each point in depth.

I agree with the first post. Change danger to survival and you got a winning thesis statement.

It is backwards. The one who is in danger isn't the one who should have to be worrying about morals. The hunter is the one who is the culprit. not the hunted. This is the ONE story that we had to read in high school that has stuck in my mind all these years. I"m close to 50 now,so it has been around a long time.

I'd make it "Morals cease when it comes to self-preservation."

It's fine.
Isn't that the greatest short story? I just love it.
