I used normal house vinegar to use mine.I put about a capful in and topped it up a bit with water then put it on a cycle.
Once It had finished I emptied it out and put fresh water in again and ran another cycle, do this twice and your steriliser will be spotless.
Lot's of brown water will come out on the vinegar rinse, but it's just the element, so no need to worry.

Squeeze a Lemon or Lime. They have the most citric acid and will be better than the powder form.

Citric acid occurs widely in nature and is found in a variety of plants and fruits (especially citrus fruits and berries), leaves, roots and in milk. I guess that you could use lemon juice. It is good enough for Kim and Aggie on How Clean Is Your House, after all! They use it clean dirty microwaves, fridges etc. It is completely natural too!!

Citric acid (ascorbic acid) is available in your local grocery store with the canning supplies (mason jar lids etc)

Plain distilled vinegar may also work.

Ask your pharmacist for it, they should have it behind the counter and should provide it for you without a prescription. Shouldn't be a problem.
