I had a girlfriend one time in my entire high school career, (lasted a whole two weeks) because I was so shy, I could barely even talk to my own teachers.
I have a few close friends, but most of them are my coworkers..
Should I just stop trying and wait for college?
If I date someone now, I would just have to break up with them in five months, so what do you think?

i think that maybe you should wait, its sooo hard being with someone, and then having to break up with them because youre leaving for college, believe me, ive been there before...only with me, i tried to make it work...and my other was cheating on me left and right...while i was in college! and im shy as well, so if you feel that being shy is causing you to also not be in a relationship, disregard that! there are alot of ppl that would love to be with someone that is shy! i know i would....im actually out of college now, and im just waiting patiently for the right person, not trying to rush like i did a few relationships in college ya know? so just wait for HER to come to YOU! :)good luck!

hey buddy keep your head up. college is a whole new world. ok i never had a boyfriend until i went to college. pretty much everyone hated me. i never kissed a guy until i was 18 years old. i went to college and im not trying to brag, but i have now kissed like 73 guys.... (not slept with though... im no s7ut) and the only reason i know this is because i had a bet with a friend in which i had to keep a tally. anyway im just saying there is hope. have a little confidence. you cant help what others think or say about you, and if they are haters... well fcuk them. you will get girls. i bet you are sexy. just smile and show it a little. no need to be shy, i know what its like. and knowing me now nobody would ever believe i use to be who i was. but life is better for me. good luck. i love you man and i dont even know you.

I'm not sure why this is a problem. I'd wait until college...is nearly over. Then you can focus on your education and develop some friendships that just might help you get over being so shy.

Hey man, I'm a HS senior also. My problem's a little different than yours. I don't date at all, but there are plenty of girls that I know would date me. I'm not being pompous or anything--I'm saying that if you can get over your shyness like I did, I'm sure you'd be able to find another girl. E-mail me at ienigma [at] gmail.com if you wanna talk.

Don't give up. I never had a single date until I was 19. It'll happen.

Yeah you'll have all of College to have fun, but you can still date in HS....there's still time, it's only January. Just don't be too serious about it.
