Why the double standard?

Why can liberals continue to hammer President Bush about false accusations re: the Air National Guard, but conservatives cannot mention Teddy Kennedy's midnight swim on Chappaquiddick as being to "far in the past" when Teddy's "indiscretion" happened a year later?

What makes this man "untouchable"?

I'm not sure what you are getting at. Both sides bring these things up all of the time. Where's the double standard? No one is stopping anyone from talking about Teddy and Chappaquiddick, or from talking about Bush's special treatment and early release from the National Guard. Both subjects seem to be pretty fairly beaten to death on YA on a regular basis...

Are you asking about the validity of the accusations or the timeliness? You're question asks both. You maintain that Bush was innocent but provide no proof, and you imply that Kennedy is guilty and similarly offer no proof. The link you provide is to a highly partisan web site with an agenda.

He's untouchable due to his money, and media hype. The media has done so much to blow up their image as to make them more like movie stars who are entitled to criminal behavior, drunkness,
and immorality.
That the good but very stupid people of mass. vote him in every year is a tribute to their massive political power in that unfortunate state.

If you read the history of the kennedyas you can see that they got their riches at the expense of small american farmers and families. Prohibition wa sberought on by the Joseph Kenndy and others like him in order to gain control of the whisky business which they did breaking thousands of farmers in the process, bring on the depression and making kennedy rich.

The kennedys are one of the least educated people who ever were elected to congress. John Kennedys son could not even pass the state Legal bar exam . His (john kennedy's on contribution to fame was getting shot, as was his brother bobby. .).
