There are usually two tracks that you can do in getting a finance major -- capital markets finance and corporate finance.

Those who do corporate finance study how to value projects within a corporation, how to decide how much debt and equity to have and how financing and operations interact.

Those studying capital markets care about security valuation, sstudy portfolio theory and learn how capital markets work.
