The equation you need to use is area of a triangle where A = bh/2

Substitute and solve

A = bh/2
120 = 24h/2
120 = 12h
h = 10 centimeters

You should know that the "triangle formula" is A = (1/2)*B*H. To find the formula for H in terms of A and B, simply divide both sides of the equation by (1/2)*B. The result is: 2A/B = H.

Now to solve your second question, simply take the above formula, plug in 120 for A and 24 for B -- I think you can do that on your own =).

H= A / 0.5B

Therefore 120 / (24x0.5) =
120 / 12 =
=10cm Height!
