this is my last semester at the community college. I'll be transfering to Boston University this fall and I'm having second thoughts on my career... I first wanted to be a psychologist/Child Psychiatry . but everyone says that I'm making a huge mistake cause I'm never going to find a job and the pay is not so good.

Any advice?

Family and friends are always going to have diff opinions about your carrer, just do what you want to. I have a friend that graduated as a Psychologist and he is making good money. But thats besides the point. Just choose something you are happy with. Don't do it for the money or because people tell you it's good or bad. Plus there are soooooo many kids out there that need help, think about that.

Hope I helped

Find out how long each program will take you. Stick to that major once you make the choice before BU. Forget about what everyone else says. Also, goto the Saturday, January 20, & Sunday, January 21, 2007 annual weekend of winter family fun at BU.

Actually the pay can be quite good - it all depends on what you want to do with the degree. If this is what you want to do - so what if you want be the next Rockerfeller, if you can pay your bills and enjoy like on what you make - what difference does it make.

Good Luck!!!

If it's what you want to do, you will be happy doing something you enjoy. There's no point changing now, and doing something you don't enjoy and being unhappy. I think it's a great decision and you will be helping so many kids.

i agree that you should pursue another career. you'll be much better off, and even if it means more time in school. it's better than losing or not having a job later on in life.

Go with your dreams/dream job! You'll probably enjoy your dream job more then other ones.
