I will make it very basic for you, and I am assuing that you are talking about a jump shot.
1. Athletic position-body squared to the goal, feet about shoulder width apart.
2. Shoting hand-should be under ball with the ball resting on the fingertips.
3. Guide hand-on the side of the ball
4. Jump
5. Elbow of shoting should be kept in or close to the body.
6. Release the ball at the top of your jump and flick your wrist to create backspin
7. Follow through- natural follow through
Look up the acronymy BEEF it is a common cue for learning the proper shotong form.

there is NO certain form and dont listen to what people tell you either. Do what works for you. Larry Bird and Reggie Miller (2 of the best shooters in league history) did NOT have good "form".

i can't describe it but by nba live 07 and watch the players hands after a free throw or a freestyle 3-pointer
