BD M,

You should realize that it hurts tremendously for the woman too. Can you imagine squeezing a watermelon through a pencil-sized hole? It's gonna hurt.

Have you ever said something out of desperation when you've smashed your finger under a hammer accidentally or kicked your toe or something? Same thing. The woman is in so much pain that she reacts without thinking--she does the first thing that comes to her mind.

I think that women squeeze guys hands, because it's like a way of saying, "Please take away the pain. I'm so glad that you're nearby and I'm not alone."

See, it might "bloody hurt" for the guy to endure those things, but it "bloody hurts" for the woman even more.

Don't be a jackass. Have you ever given birth. There is no amount of hand squeezing that could produce the same level of pain. You are inviting loads of other angry women to swear at you with this kind of question

Well... I never swore at my husband during labor, I never called him horrible names but I DID squeeze his hand till it went numb on him. He didn't complain, he simply switched hands and told me to squeeze harder if I needed too. Maybe this is the reason I didn't swear at him, and didn't call him horrible names. No maybe about it! He was compassionate, sensitive and was there for me as I was giving birth to his child. Speaking of "bloody hurts".... buddy you obviously haven't a clue of what pain is.

So does squeezing a little human being out of your vagina!!! That is alot more painful than a bit of hand squeezing. So until you can give birth you'll just have to put up with not being able to feel your fingers!

I think you need to realize that most women aren't fully aware of what is going on around them. I remember a lot of pain and getting 2 shots of something, the second didnt work. My second labor was only about 6 hours but it was the most excruciating pain ever. NOTHING can prepare you for childbirth and you need to accept that and if you love your partner let go of whatever she did to you and be happy and thankful for the gift of a child all that pain brought to your life!

If you were the one giving birth, you would do the same exact thing.
The hormones take over, not to mention the extreme amount of pain that's involved. After it's all over, we don't even really remember what we've just been through. It's all a blur....hard to explain.
You should just forget about all the names and comments and focus on the beautiful baby that you now have and the special woman who gave you this child.

LOL. I guess you would do the same if you was squeezing a Mellon through your mouth without breaking it. Child birth is a very painful experience that makes me give plenty of praise to women that do it. Even so much moire when they keep having more and more and more. ;-)

YES!!!! At last someone has the guts to say it!!

My ex nearly broke my thumb when she was doing that arching the back thing and looking like yoda....it really hurt!!!

She also kept grabbing me round the neck every time I was chatting in a completely innocent way with the student nurse...How rude!!!!

I think it's time women took responsibility. They've had the pleasure, they should take the pain!!!!

I'm all for support and funny breathing and stuff...but lay of the guilt trip ladies...it makes you look resentful....Gord bless yah!!!

EDIT:

I knew there would be some with no sense of humour.

I have 3 children...the 3 best times of my life was when they were born. Some of the people on here need to grow up before they spout their opinions.

I think because they are going through so much pain and they know that men don't have to go through that at all, men don't have to deal with the pregnancy and all the things that come with that (morning sickness, stretch marks, feeling like a cow, etc..) Men just get to have fun and wait for the baby.

You try pushing a cabbage patch doll though one of your nostrils and tell me if it hurts! Same principle. Labor can be very painful, (it bloody hurts) and by swearing, etc. it is a coping mechanism
