I can see my network and it shows connected with excellent signal. I can also connect to other unsecured networks in my apartment complex but I can't open any pages. Any idea what the problem might be or how I can fix it? Thanks!!!

Is the router built in to a broadband modem, or a separate unit? If they are separate, do you have internet access when you plug the laptop directly into the modem? If you have DSL, you need to configure your router with your logon ID and password in order to get online.

Assuming you are using windows,

You need to ping a couple of places until you get packet drops.

Find the ip address of your router, and Internet device and ping those with the command

ping "The address" i.e. ping 192.168.0.1

you will find out where the packets are dropping from there hopefully you will see where the Internet traffic stops routing.

Look at the settings on your wireless network connection. A good command to use is the "ipconfig /all" from the command prompt.

It sounds like you may have a dns server problem. Go to your network connection settings do a properties and Configure the tcp/ip settings to automatically get everything if you do not know the ip addresses for your dns servers (can be obtained from your internet service provider).

Hope that helps
