Use less, waste less, recycle more.
Normall toilets have 1.5-2 US Gal of water for a flush, that is insane, it takes 1/2 of that.
Neon Lights to replace Incadecant Bulbs saves Direct Energey and also saves on Cooling.
Set the thermostat, one temature and leave it alone! 80 degrees is comfy, just dont turn it up when chilled or turn it down when warm or whatever, that is why it is a Thermostat, to maintain a certain tempature, find one you like and stick to it.
1 Shower, 5 baths a week, a shower uses alot more energey than a bath, so bathe 5 times a week and shower once. (go swimming on the other one)
Heavy Drapes that go from Ceiling to floor, these can be pulled back to allow sunlight in, but windows are a major source of hot/cold exchange, mostly in the wrong way.
Replace weather stripping on Doors,Windiws
Attic Vents, in summer make sure they are open and air is flowing, in winter you can close them off.
Pipe Insulation, too much energey is wasted on water sitting or traveling in exposed pipes.
Open the Fridge twice a day, morning get your stuff out for the day, evening put leftovers back.
Dont start 3 burners to cook one meal, start one burner and use it 3 times. The energey saved by the Off/On cycle is amazieng on electric ranges. Andgas ranges better one burner than 3.
Insulate.
Dress for the seasion, do not make the house the season that you prefer, its cold outside, put a robe on. its hot outside, take the robe off.
I dunno if thats creative, but it is common sence.

Considering you have a good insulated home or apartment.

Turn your thermostat to 75 in the Summer and let it run all day non stop.

In the Winter use as needed only.

BBQ two times a week espeically for total electric homes.

Turn your water heater thermostat to 120 bottom 100 top. This way you save more, but have less hot water for those who moight like long showers.

Put a Hot Water Heater blanket around your hot water heater. They come from any home store and will save lots of money. Also, if you have a dishwasher, use the "no heat" dry cycle.
