My S/O dreamed this the other night. I was at her place (a rare occurence). I asked her if she wanted a coffee. ( a dumb question b/c we are both coffee junkines). She reached for the cup I had. The cup was a regular coffee mug size, but it was made of smokey marble. She reached for it and I tried to pull it back, saying "not yet!" or "It's not time" or soemthing like that. She touched it anyway, and it split in two, evenly. The coffe disappeared. The cup flew from our hands and bounced off the sideboard, then bounced down the stairs wehre it shattered into a bazillion fragments. She said that she felt okay in the dream, not endangered or anything, and not scared when the cup did what it did. She said she felt better about us afterward. I have my ideas about this dream, but I would appreciate any others? Thanks!

I am intrigued and delighted by the answers so far. Some concur with my thoughts, some not, but keep the ideas coming. I'm extending this question to allow more time.

This is a a subconscious revelation about your girlfriend's perspective of your relationship. To keep things short: she wants to get married but feels that if she asks you now, it would be too soon and damage the relationship.

What a great dream! I have my own interpretation that I would like to share with you.

The cup that was made of smoky marble symbolizes a special spiritual vessel that you used to transport your love and commitment to her in her dream. Coffee is what you both love and is an earthy joy your both share thereby the symbolism of the coffee itself. When she reached for the cup she accepted your offering and in return offered her own back to you from which, I believe, is the reasoning behind why the cup was split equally into two separate pieces. The love and commitment that was in the cup was absorbed into both of you at that exchange before breaking and that is the reason why there was no coffee (or love) left in the cup.

As far as the cup breaking into a bazillion fragments is not a tale of woe, but quite the opposite meaning for both of you to take back your own love and commitment offerings would entail that the cup or special vessel would have to be put back together again which now is impossible. Any worries that she may have had in the past about your relationship have now been dealt with subconsciously and it symbolizes complete committal on her part to you without fear or any anticipation of pain.

Good luck to you both and may you two forever enjoy the love that you willingly and unconditionally give to each other.

It seems like your significant other and you have somethings that you disagree about and its hindering you from taking the next step marriage. However, if you don't take the next step your relationship will break-up. Since your so close its going to take time for you both to mend emotional ly and spiritually. The cup does not have to break. Just agree not to reach for it.Its not time is your conscious mind. Your sub conscious mind knows that its time. That's why you say "something like that" becuase the of internal struggle. You have already made the physical and emotional committment now its time for the next step.Good luck!

Dreams are symbols to resolve our emotions in the conscious state. They are symbolic and do not represent actual activities.

As coffee junkies, you both may want to cut back or quit. This may be representative of its not time, but the coffee will be gone when the time is right.

Remember this one thing!
Dreams have at least 4 to 6 different sources, some dreams dont have any meaning at all and should be just ignored.
there is a scripture reference that says man cannot drink of the cup of devils and of the cup of God at the same time.
it is possible that the cup represents a symbol of true worship but not of God and was perceived to be evil, therefore it was chosen to be rejected and destroyed.
however, i hate dreams that are symbolic, if God wanted something to be told and wanted amessage to be delivered He would clearly spell it out and the message would be received, therefore most dreams do not come from God. Some dreams are just Babel and confusion, therefore if the message is not received with full translation and correct interpretation it cannot be justified as a warning.
There are lying spirits too, that will spell out pictures in the mind and use them only to deceive what ever is conditionally implanted.
The worst parts of the world who practice Black majiks can manipulate the mind through process of sleep deprivation and drugs that both erase memory and program false dreams. a person can manipluated to see dreams with symbolism according to the encyclopedias of dream interpretation, if a person uses the symbol in these books can create or confabulate a persons dream according to their own external influence.
have you ever watched the hypnotist who does the show sleeping with the stars?
the brain creates its own drugs as well, and DMT is often considered a drug that will cause visions of Et's that are commonly seen among all people who use it. the same drug chemical in the brain can be used by higher intelligent beings who know how to do it. I think they pervert the Creation of God and undermine His will withtheir own wickedness.

It sounds to me as if she felt there was some type of barrier between you two, (possibly about children as the coffee cup could be symbolic for a uterus), but she has come to terms with whatever it is in her own mind.

go to www.dreamdoctor.com and submit your dream. Someone, possibly several people will interpret it for you. Note: You might get several different interpretations. Just go through them and I'm sure you will find one that you can associate with your dream.
