I am 37 weeks and 2 days pregnant. Yesturday I was 2 cent. dilated and 90% efaced with the babys head where it should be, but haven't really had too many contractions. What is everyones opinion as to how long before the baby is born? Through what you really DO know or have experiened.
I don't want smart a** asnwers either.

I had my first at 37wk2d and never felt ANY contractions. In fact, the week before at my doc appt she had told me I was 100% effaced and dilated to a 2. I woke up with a very slight backache one morning, went in to see my doctor and when she checked me I was 5-6 cm. I walked over to L&D and my daughter was born two hours later! Just saying that not EVERYONE feels contractions and has them regulary like you are "supposed" to. Listen to your body and when you feel "different" or uncomfortable..go in and be checked! I predict you will be having this baby within the next week and a half for sure! good luck and congratulations!

Honestly you just never know. Everyone is different, have you seen your doctor? My first born was in position from 5 months-I went 2 1/2 weeks over and still had to get induced (I won't go into what a horror show it was). You can be dilated for a few weeks-or days. It really just depends on the baby and you, if the date you were given is correct etc. Anyway---ask your doctor, and I wish you and your baby all the best!

You could walk around dialated and effacd for weeks and still not go into labor. Give it time you still have about three weeks until your due date.
