Accounting is basic math skills +-*/. You should go through 4 years of college majoring in accounting. If you want to be a CPA you should go for your Graduate Degree, Masters, or even Doctorate. Math is not all you need. You need to know how to fill out balance sheets, income statements, journalize into general journals, ledgers....not to mention record keeping. You need to know about Debits and Credits, contra accounts, taxes, payroll, cost accounting, business accounting. I could go on all day....these are just some of the basics you will need to study.

Although you need math you only need to know the basics ... and it will be good if your'e quick with numbers ... then comes the part where you need to learn the accounting terms etc. you can go to a 2 year college .. but it will be best to go to one that goes for 4 (B.A.)
