They are hypocrites. The Massachusetts Kennedys and Kerrys are the biggest offenders.

I'm not sure if you have ever been to the Cape - but there are several smaller towns and villages along the entire coastal area. ( Well fleet, Truro, Provincetown etc.) Not everyone who lives on the cape is wealthy. I suspect the lack of lower income housing etc. comes from lack of industry and places of employment. It is quite a drive back into the city or other areas where there are more employment opportunities. It can also be really difficult to commute from the cape this time of year due to weather. Real estate is quite high there - just as it is in most coastal areas. I wish people would make sure they have their facts before they make broad generalizations.
ps - I am a middle income Democrat - but well-traveled!

"You can increase taxes for the rich as long as I don't have to pay'em."

Great question. The democrats want to look like defenders of the poor...... unless they are in their neighborhood or asking for help, then they want a bloated and ungainly welfare state to help these people.
