check first to see if your overfeeding (really common at this age)

a one week old's stomach holds about 1/2 ounces each feeding

if your baby is eating more it will cause him to spit it up

note also, wait a while to try switching formulas (its the least common cause of stomach upset, and should only be done if you have a stool sample that is positive for blood, meaning baby has an allergy)

if it continues to be a problem ask for as referral to a nutritionist, doctors are not trained to handle dietary problems

are you breast feeding or formula feeding? If you are breast feeding read up on what is good and not good for the baby. Formula feeding. Give him/her some gas releif drops and not the herbal kind because it can cause kidney failure because it is not pasterized properly. Make sure the baby is not constipated. Remember the baby has been in your stomach for nine months and it's little body is going through major culture shock. My son had colic for three months, and if that is the case talk to your pediatrician. They can really help.

What symptoms is your baby exhibiting that make you think that? It is very important to know what you are asking about. Obviously your baby didn't say "My stomach is upset".

I will check back or you can IM or e-mail me.
