I take her to the doctor regularly about this problem! I am breastfeeding and all she wants is my breastmilk. I'm on a high fat diet to try to get her to gain weight that way. But the doctor wants me to try to force her to eat! She just gets mad and frustrated and throws the food back at me! It's always been this way We try to sweeten her food up, we try to let her feed herself, we try to let her sit near her sister and copy her sister, we try everything! Every few days she will eat what would be equivalent to what she should eat per meal. Other than that she eats a few green beans, or one french fry, or just a few pieces of corn, or one bite of banana. PER DAY! We have tried everything and she jsut will not eat food or drink from a sippy cup. She only wants to nurse. It's starting to harm her, she hasn't gained an ounce since October. I am only 4ft 8, Husbands only 5ft 3. so it's in her genes to be small, but the doctors are concerned. Other than that she's healthy, Please Help ME

I have a son who at 13.5 months at times is very picky--I know just what your going through. My pedia. told me to make sure your not giving more than 20 oz a day (which isn't much--though I formula fed). So, limit her amount of breastmilk--and try to feed her after meal time. Try to find three to four foods she eats happily--and mix other ingredients in (like a veggie/cheese omeltte). Here is what my son loves: pancakes, waffles with fruit jelly, sausage, cheese, cottage cheese, chicken, pizza, fishsticks (occasionally)--and pretty much any fruit. Offer things you choose many times, and in different combinations. Also, check out drsears.com--they have a great section of "picky eaters". Hope I helped!

At 12 months you should stop nursing and don't force her that will not get you anywhere. just keep trying and encourage her to eat. I had a hard time with my two but they finally came around. Don't give in and nurse her because that will just set you back. Good luck.

Just quit nursing! or pump and put it in a sippy!! don't nurse as often and she will start eating more to compensate for it!

My advise stop breast feeding or limit it.If you want to continue on breast milk you may want to use a bottle and limit her milk feedings, this will allow you to measure how much she is drinking. She will feel hungry and will eat.If you keep feeding her after a fit of food throwing she will continue to do it.She will not starve as you are probably concerned she will feel hungry and have to eat.Just don't give in.
