The San Diego Chargers should've won that game. There was some poor play calling, expecially on 4th downs. Rivers did excellent and the defense did o.k. Playing prevent defense and bad play calling on offense really did them in. Is Marty on his way out?

Marty needs to go. He is 5-13 in the playoffs. He completely mismanaged the game on Sunday, wasting 2 second half timeouts (one on the ridiculous challenge and the other by calling one immediately following a 5 minute injury timeout when his offense should have been ready to go), not preparing his team on that fourth down when McCree intercepted Brady only to fumble it back to the Pats when he should have reminded his defenders to simply knock the ball to the ground, and not keeping his players heads in the game after taking an 8 point lead in the fourth quarter.
The defense dropped interceptions all over the field and Florence committed the worst penalty of the year by celebrating a (fourth down?) defensive stop by trying to ram his helmet into an opposing player's face, resulting in a personal foul penalty and an automatic first down.
Also, let's not forget Eric Parker. Numerous dropped passes and a brainless muffed punt where he should have dove on the ball instead of trying to pick it up and return it.

The bottom line is that these were mental mistakes, ones that can be avoided with proper coaching and preparation. As long as Marty Schottenheimer is your team's coach, you will win 10-14 games in the regular season, then crap the bed in the playoffs. I try to tell people around here (I live in San Diego), but they won't listen. Some people just have to learn the hard way.

Geezus Mary Joseph NO!!!!
Marty is a genius. He does not call the plays, his Off Coord does. So, maybe that guy should be fired.
The Chargers definitely beat themselves in that game. Poor play calling all around.
If Marty gets canned, I sure hope he takes the Dolphins job cuz he is an awesome coach.

Should he? Yes. Will he? No.

Wasting the TO on the challenge was insanely ridiculous. Anyone watching the game knew there was no chance of it being overturned. And as it worked out, the Dolts could have used a TO to allow for another play to advance the ball for the final FG try, that could have been made versus a LONG try.

He is a LOSER. Poor decision making (challenge, clock management, time-outs, etc. cost the game. Can him. But, not before Parcells makes up his mind about the Cowboys. We sure don't want Marty in Dallas, either. On second thought, keep him.

Yes. No doubt he should be fired.

It's the coach's job to control his players, to coach them into keeping their heads.
On fourth down, before McCree saw the ball coming, Marty should have been screaming "IT'S FOURTH DOWN, KNOCK THE DAMN BALL DOWN"... Instead, McCree doesn't hear a thing and he intercepts it and tries to score... result, fumble recovered by Pats for a first down.
A freakin' high school coach would know that.

"Play calling" didn't do the Chargers in. Poor execution of those plays did them in! Don't blame a 62 year old man for the fumble of the INT, blame the DB in top physical condition for getting stripped of the ball!

No way. His team won their division and went to the playoffs. There is no way he should be fired. They lost because of turnovers, which is not his fault. (Tom Brady may also have sold his soul to the Devil) (JUST KIDDING). Anyway, it is not Marty's fault.

Yes, he should be fired. He's a great regular season coach, but that's it. Please see my reasons in the question I posted this morning.
