I am overweight and tons of people make fun of me. What should I do. And a lot of boys make fun of me. I am afraid boys won't ever like me until i have become skinny. I am in 7th grade by the way. 50 percent of my friends made fun of me. I am still their friend. I don't really have a low self esteem but it does hurt a alot when people can't accept you because of your body type. Please help me

Just make sure you stay sweet. Try experimenting with different physical activities. There are so many things you can do to work out your body and they don't have to be those typical sports. You just have to find one you love. I personally love working out with weights. You could get into better shape just by going for a walk everyday. Plug in your headphones and spend an hour out in the fresh air. Once you start making an effort to eat right and exercise, it becomes fun. There are SO many great foods out there that are healthy too. You just have to try. I love food, but I'm able to stay fit because I eat until I'm full and I eat things that are satisfying and not fattening. Don't worry about the boy thing. You're still young and I know that's annoying to hear, but your time really will come. Just become happy with how you look, and then people will realize it really doesn't bother you. It won't bother them anymore either. Junior high is tough. People are so self-conscious about themselves, they just look for other people to pick on. They all have their faults. Just keep your head high and hold onto those true friends with all your might! Good luck girl!

If they we're truly your friends they wouldn't make fun of you! True friendship is sticking with you no matter what, and friends don't make fun of each other in hurtful ways. Around that age regardless if your overweight or skinny people will try to make fun of you. I was really skinny and underweight and I got teased. The best thing to do is be confident in yourself! If your confident and don't look at yourself as ugly, then no one else either. I wouldn't recommend at all to go on a diet. Just eat healthier, less fast foods, exercise, and drink water! I know that sounds so simple, but its the best thing for someone your age. Try to cut back on sodas, candy, anything that is bad for you. Don't worry about boy's liking you. When the right time comes, the right guy will be placed in your life. Your only in 7th grade and you shouldn't be worried about that!!! Again if these are your true friends you should be able to tell them that you don't like them making fun of you. Tell them how you feel and you will find out who are your true friends!

Well hun, if you are unable to lose weight or don't want to dont let them bother you. I know it sounds hard and people tell you this all the time but its the truth. You need to accpet yourself for who you are and not what you look like. Those people that make fun of you are not your friends. Your friends are people who love you for who you are. As for boys, dont worry about them now they are way to much trouble anyway. But when you are ready- I saw a TV show the other day with overweight woman and thier boyfriends. There boyfriends were reeally sexy and they were saying on that they like thier woman how they are. They think its sexy to be overwieght. So dont worry, cheer up and ignore those jerks. Maybe you should give them a tast of thier own medicine..... :)

I am so sorry to hear that. no one deserves to get bullied for any reason.
ok it has to come truly from you if you want to change or not. Maybe if you considered going for a daily walk or jog and talked to some people along the way. As each day goes by you will be getting fitter and building up you self-esteem.
Bullies only have something to hind themselves that is why they are nasty. Say these words everyday to yourself and you will boost your confidence ; I am confident, smart and pretty.
As for boys, you should not have to changed for any boy..he should like you for who you are and nobody else.
Maybe if you feel yourself that your overweight(which you might not be,it might only be in your head) take up some exercise you would enjoy and do it regularly.. never quit!!
Good girl..and your making a great effort even by looking for help.

Real friends will "encourage" you, not discourage you. People can be cruel with their words. You have to be the better person and just shrug it off. You stated you have confidence in yourself allow that to shine thru.

Don't worry about the boys, they will come around. I have a niece who has been over-weight all her life and she never had any problems with dating (she's now happily married with 3 kids). The right people are out there never give up hope... enjoy life.

I know it's so cliche but you have to ignore what they say. Kids will never change and when they do, it's too late. As far as the weight goes, you can't want to become skinny for other people. You have to do it for YOU and only YOU. Let them know how you feel and just know that what doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger. Don't worry though, one day you will change but they won't. Things will get better. <33

That's the problem with 7th grade Hon. You sound like the most mature one in the bunch. Just hang in there, they will grow up eventually and appreciate you for who you are. I'm counting on you.:)

Don't feel bad, and don't worry about what peolpe say. You are not the only want with weight issues. If you like the way you look so be it, you are young you have plenty of time to loose.

ok listen honey. First of all if they make fun of you they are NOT you friends. You are young and you can not let what people say bother you. It has to come within you to loose weight. No one can do it for you. Please don't let anyone see that they are bothering you with what they say. Eventually they will stop.
