I experienced something that seemed like implantation bleeding on the day of my period, which only lasted 3 days, and was nothing more than some brownish spotting on the toilet paper when I wiped. It wasn't a flow or anything more than that. My periods are heavy and last 7 days. Well, this spotting ended on day 3.

So on day 6, I took a test. It was one of those types that have two windows. One window is called the control window and it always has a line to show the test has absorbed the proper amount of urine for testing.. The other window determines if you are pregnant or not. The window shows a horizontal line for negative, and a plus sign for pregnant.

Well, a slightly faint horizontal line showed after a few minutes. It was lighter than the line in the control window, but still indicated not pregnant. There was a tiny, tiny little white line through the horizontal line, but more to the left, instead of straight-thru the middle as it would have been if it were a positive sign. Plus if it was a plus sign, it would have been pink, not white. I think that was an evaporation line, and it dissapeared in a few mins anyway. I was wondering if it is still possible for this to have been a false negative?? Should I retest now that a few days have passed and the HCG in my urine might have built up, if I am pregnant?

Also, just adding that I took the test on day 6, which would have been 5 days after my period was to start.

definitely try again! tests often come back with a false negative, especially when it's not that long after your period got over

It could be a false positive. The best thing to do, since you are several days late, would be to go to your doctor and have a qualitative or quantitative blood test done. One test will measure if there is hCg in your blood and the other tests the amount. Or you can retest with another brand (Probably what I would do!) Good luck!!

What does a faint negative propose? I actually have heard of faint effective, yet not faint negative. you want to take yet another try, this time wait some days til you're about a week late. If the try remains inconclusive bypass see your physician for a blood try.

So far it doesn't sound like you are pregnant. Re-test in a couple of days and get ones of the new tests that actually comes up PREGNANT or NOT PREGNANT rather than those lines that confuse people all the time.

I would go to the store and buy one of the new test that will say pregnant or not pregnant, Then you will know for sure. No matter what what is in your system if you are prego it would show a positive.

Try a different test to be sure. Use first morning urine for best results.

Just go into the doctor and ask for a quantative BETA it measures how high pregnancy hormones are not if you are just pregnant.
