I am still trying to make sense as to why these killer buyers are taking our horses down to Mexico in double decker cattle trailers for them to inhumanely slaughter them even though no country, (due to the cruelty) except for some restaurants in the US which buys the meat from Mexico and then serves it to unsuspecting customers as beef. Why doesn't anyone do anything about this?

They do the same thing on the Canada border by Shelby MT, and the company won't let you buy any of the horses. All you can do is watch them over crowded in a yard with no hope but to die. This world is cruel to animals. People buy horses, relize how much work they really are and then just drop them off to be made into food. There are so many other options out there.

Its perfectly legal in Mexico to slaughter horses. If you don't like it, start a rescue and buy all the horses off the trucks so they don't get killed.

You're better off donating money to the people who do buy horses before they're bought by the slaughter people. Its really expensive to take care of these horses, they have major vet bills, need training, then you have to have room to keep them w/o overcrowding. And you have to feed and clean up after them. Volunteers can only do so much, so you can volunteer at one of these places.

Ponder this...

On most drugs and medications, usually the fine print says not to be given to equines for food. Would you want to eat horse meat like that.

Another fact. 40,000 horses are stolen every year and a good number of them are sold to killer buyers. Check out the source link.

Actually if they are caught with horses on a double decker tariler they will face leagal prosecution. BUT europe has a market for horse meat - not the US (perhaps the ethnic market)

Uhm... because it is legal. And because people eat it. And because their is profit to be made, and because not many people care what happens to a few horses, and because mexicans need to eat horses. What makes it more cruel to kill a horse than a cow? or are u a vegetabletarian... Killing animals is fine. theyre just animals. Not people.
