Hello andrez2103,

There is also the Alias icon on the Macintosh.

On the Macintosh, if you want to make an Alias of a program or file you select the icon (single-click), then you go up to the File > Make Alias menu command or hit the Command (or Apple key) + L keyboard shortcut. This creates an alias of the icon which you can put anywhere on your Macintosh.

You can then double-click on the alias icon and the program will launch or the file will open. Although it works just like a copy of the program, it actually only references the original file or program, where ever it is. The Alias icons uses a minimum of disk space.

The icons on the Macintosh dock are actually aliases, and if you drag them off into "poof" oblivion, the original is still on your Mac.

Aliasing refers to the distortion or artifact that is caused by a signal being sampled and reconstructed as an alias of the original signal.

in simpler terms its a glitch in video quality (in games, dvds so on) that makes the game look... well... ugly basically

many games have Antialiasing options that can be enabled but it usually needs a high end graphics card to do so

cheers

Defects or distortion in a television picture or audio. Defects are typically seen as jagged edges on diagonal lines and twinkling or brightening. In digital video, aliasing is caused by insufficient sampling or poor filtering of the digital video.
