Apparently so. He played for the Bears and his last pass as a pro was an interception against the Saints.

I am not making this up!

Well what the poster below wrote was interesting but just so you know I'm know making this up, here's MY source....

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=AgVFtUywn5VupJ3iWWwqQpON2bYF?slug=ap-saints-payton&prov=ap&type=lgns

it reads......"Payton is familiar with the type of scrutiny quarterbacks can face in Chicago. He went to junior high and high school in nearby Naperville, Ill. He played college football at Eastern Illinois -- also Tony Romo's alma mater -- from 1982-86. He then played for the Arena Football League's Chicago Bruisers in 1987 before getting a brief shot in the NFL that same year as a replacement player for the Bears during a players' strike.

He appeared in three games. His last pass, he recalled, was an interception during a 19-17 loss to the Saints. "

Yep. he was a replacement player (QB) for the Bears when the players went on strike.

It's funny...his last 'pass' was intercepted by the New Orleans Saints. Now he's the head coach of the Saints playing against his old team, the Bears. Perhaps the last pass Rex Grossman has will be an interception by the Saints as well??

This is the link - in 1987 he was a replacement player.

His last pass as a pro was not against NO and he was not even playing then. Chi played NOrlean in week 5 when the Bears lost 17-19.
