I need some help about constructing a viewfinder.

I've been trying to figure out what type of plastic should be used for the plastic piece. Does it have to be hard plastic? Or can you use a plastic sheet for the plastic piece?

Because uhm, I live in Singapore and I'm not sure if the art stores carry affordable plastic pieces about 8" x 10". I remember the last time I saw a viewfinder, it was about 200 bucks.

Thank you! :)

I'm looking for the answer too - I saw one in class and it was bigger than 8 x 10 with three 1" squares cut out and had red cellophane or something in the squares. Not sure what its used for yet.
